Broken glass

| Posted on

Mike and I had a terrific time at Buster’s Saturday. I was still getting over my cold, so I had no top end vocally and every time I swallowed it felt like a bolus of broken glass. Having said that, the crowd was quite forgiving and I got to see many, many old friends. As I was lamenting to family after the show, that’s all I got to do: see everyone. I’ve got to find a different line of work that will allow me to actually go and talk to everyone I’ve missed.

Or, perhaps not.

For those of you who don’t get the newsletter and who haven’t yet checked out the new band log from Chris “Deinesaur” Deines, we’re running a contest over the next couple of months. If you have a suggestion for a name for the new band, send it to [email protected]. We’ll sort through them and pick a winner when we get around to it. The winner not only reserves one of the first copies of our new CD and T-shirt, but we’ll also send the winner three CDs from lonestarmusic.com.

Jim bought a new amp. Says I have to play electric through it Friday. Considering how many people haven’t habitually come to our shows, there’s actually a pretty good chance I’ll get to do it. For those of you who do decide to come, you’re in for either a treat or an early night back from the bars. We’ll see. I haven’t seriously played my electric since my Emotional Feedback days in high school, and it’s going to be difficult learning again.

As a great man once said, “big ones line up, little ones gang up.”

You’ll hear from me.
