So I’m laying here in my hotel room in Bloomington, Indiana, getting ready to go to Nick’s bar. I’m watching the IU / UCLA basketball game and actually not hating basketball as much as I usually do. It’s actually a great game, with 2 minutes left. I find myself actually going for IU.
Getting ready for the big show tomorrow night at Biggitty-Bobbitty T’s. The power acoustic treo that is the ATB will be pushing our subs with a new amp. Mason’s kick is going to hurt. Come for the fun. Bring a friend. Drink some beer. Watch Aaron detox.
I’m trying the great experiment – no beer, coffee, or tobacco for 40 days. We’ll see how good this lent thing treats me. Come Easter Sunday, though, I’ll be tapping a keg and opening roll over morning Folgers.
We booked a huge house to sell. 4 acres and a huge shop, no to mention a house that is nicer than any I’ve seen. It’s never been occupied. I confess I actually got out my Treo and punched up the monthly payments. Not pretty. Guess I won’t be a home-owner any time soon.
Going to see Blaine tonight at Pat’s. Come out, come out wherever you are.
So I’m sitting here drinking Earl Grey and playing Counter Strike. I’ve been in a really weird mood today. I’m going to see how bad the de-tox is if I don’t drink tonight.
Thanks to everyone who came to Longhorns on that bitter, cold day a couple weeks ago to watch us. It meant alot to us and we might just come back. For now, though, look for us at Bobby T’s.
Liggity-logging from G’s Getting ready to roll to Olpe Salon no. 2 Thanks to everyone who braved the cold-as-ever-loving-hell weather last night and came anyway to see us at ‘horn’s House sound is always nice It was good to play with Jim again Thanks to the newspaper guys, I’ll never see again G better drive to Olpe
Coming home to Buster’s It’s going to be like playing a new bar Rick gave me my solo start It’ll be tough working for a new boss We’ll see how this works
Went north to the Salebarn Ballroom Phillipsburg last night with Blaine Younger Big room, vroom Place used to be an old…Salebarn I kept looking for a ringman with a whip
Blaine keeps getting better. It’s been a long time since we two played a song-swap. The cold notwithstanding, the crowd was very solid. I’d never been to the Salebarn, though I’d heard about it quite a bit.
It was good to see Liz and Candace after seeing neither for several years. Old friends are like time capsules, good to dig up every now and then.
Friday was a rough one. Thanks for all the Jäger-nukes, everyone. I hope you’re happy, you bastards. That’s the secret to get us to play pop music, by the way.
Three Jägers for Aaron = Fishing in the Dark
Please don’t do it again.
Rolling to Longhorns in Manhattan on Thursday, then on to Olpe and Sun City to finish out this coming week.
Got back yesterday from Copper Mountain, Colorado. Went out Sunday for an auction confrence. It had been several years since I’d gone skiing, and it seemed like I was riding a bike.
We’re looking forward to playing tomorrow with Jennifer, and I’m looking forward to Saturday’s show with Blaine Younger.
…things gon’ get hot. Sunday’s show with Blaine, Pete, Titts, and Russell Kansas was good. I saw Randy Rogers again last night at Longhorns just to be sure.
I was thinking of what to write and a song from Eddie and the Cruisers II: Eddie Lives hit me like a bad movie. It featured bad writing, bad acting, and an unforgivingly catchy soundtrack.
I’ve been watching a lot of House MD lately. A good show, it is.
We ordered some new merch. Look out for action figures.
We’re bringing the rock to Danny’s Bar and Grill in Lenexa tomorrow. I just got word that we’ll be playing the show with rockers Gunderson from St. Louis. I hope we’re not splitting the fuel bill. Check them out. It’ll be a nice, relaxing end-of-year show to get to play and then get to break and talk to everyone with whom we don’t usually get to converse for any length of time. We’re looking forward to it.
Also, recently booked is a show in Hays on 14 January. It’s the second of our quarterly Kansas Singer Songwriter series. The last one in Emporia was a resounding success, and I can’t wait. Note that it’s an early show so everyone can pack up and make it down to the Wade Bowen and Randy Rogers show that evening.
The next Bobby T’s show on 26 January will be a special one. Not only will it kick off the spring tour, but we’ll be joined by special guest Jennifer Pettersen, of http://www.myspace.com/jenniferpettersen fame. She’ll be starting about 9:00pm, so you’d better camp out at the gates before the bar opens to be sure to get a seat. Also, the ATB will be joined on guitar by Michael Kisner from the BYB. Do not miss this show.
